introducing the nature of mind through film

introducing the nature of mind through film

I think you are expecting me, maybe, because I made this two film, some of you maybe thinking: “Here this Tibetan Lama might introduce nature of our mind, the Buddha nature, through film.” Now I will tell you, from my point of view, with my capacity, little difficult. Little difficult. But I have a quite a good excuse for this because it takes two, it takes two to appreciate all this symbolism. I am sure the Japanese are appreciating the Buddha, Japanese and Chinese are appreciating the Buddha who is slightly plump. You know Japanese Buddhas are quite fat isn’t it. Indians are on the other hand, Indians appreciate more tall, well build, musclely Buddha. So it takes – I guess it has all to do with the culture, again the culture is playing a very important role here. I am not saying that the film can’t do it but if you are asking me a little bit difficult but it is possible depending on what kind of audience we are showing.
