sublime wealth of sadness

sublime wealth of sadness

If you are reborn as a Bill Gates pet dog, I don’t know it if it a good karma or a bad karma. We don’t know. Now if we ask Jigme Lingpa, you know someone like Jigme Lingpa, for him, his prayers are oriented like that. You know his prayers are like: May I please not be reborn as a wealthy person. You know like this. Because then I will end up having lot of things to do. Then I will never think about the Dharma. May I have sadness, may I feel depressed, may I feel miserable, like that. So it depends on what you are looking for.

Okay. Like again with Bill Gate’s dog situation, six realms. In the six realms, from the mundane worldly person being point of view, if you look at the six realms, the god realm should be the top of the list. Wow, amazing place. But if you are a follower of Shakyamuni, to be reborn in a god realm, you have a bad karma. From the dharma’s point of view. Yes you were thrown by seemingly stained good karma good virtue in the past but something to be very wary of. Actually out of the six realms, from the mundane materialistic human point of view human realm is the third in hierarchy. But from the dharma point of view it is the first. Because in human realm you have the ability to be sad. And you have time and you have the condition to be sad. And I am not exaggerating this and this is coming straight from the sutras. Sadness is one of the most valued sublime wealth that a spiritual person must have. Sadness. Okay.
